About Monroe Knights of Columbus

On October 6, 1907 the Monroe Council #1266 was founded. Currently, there are 487 members serving the local Monroe Parishes. Council #1266 is an active council in service for over a century. We've achieved Star and Double Star honors, some of the highest honors bestowed by Supreme.

Our annual Goodfellows Newspaper sale provides food for over 150 local families during the holidays. We directly support the Monroe parishes of St. Anne, St. Charles, St. John, St. Mary and St. Michael with their food and clothing drives. As a Council

#1266 Knight, we provide Coats for Kids in our community, Teddy Bears to local law enforcement for youths suffering trauma, and funds through the MI "Tootsie Roll" Drive to support programs for intellectually disabled persons in our area (ARC of Monroe, Monroe County Special Olympics, Holiday Camp & SMCC Inclusion Program).

We've advanced the cause of Right to Life, raising funds for ultrasound machines being placed in high-risk areas of Michigan.

In addition, we also financially support seminarians to address the need for additional priests and ministers in service of the Church.
