Worthy Brothers,
I want to say Thank You Very Much to all who participated in Saturday night's Comedy event at the K of C hall. The Comedy Night was a big success with over 150 guests attending a great show with a delicious meal and a lot of laughs. Whether you bought tickets for the show or helped make it work, I thank you! I received nothing but praise for the evening from everyone I spoke to. That praise goes to each one of you who helped set up, prepare the meal, register the guests, sell 50/50 tickets, and tear down the tables and set back up for Bingo. Also, a big thank you to St. Charles and the guys who transported, set up and took down the stage used for our comedians. What a great night was had by all.
Our next big event is the Coats for Kids coat distribution this coming weekend. Set up will be on Friday, November 22th starting at 3 pm. Distribution of the coats will be Saturday, November 23 starting at 9 am and ending at noon. Volunteers are need for both set up on Friday and for helping the kids on Saturday. Helping these kids try on a new coat and watching them smile is truly a rewarding experience. Your help will be greatly appreciated!
Finally, coming soon is the Annual Clergy / Past Grand Night Appreciation Dinner scheduled for December 14th. Invitations to all Council #1266 and Assembly #488 members will be sent out soon but mark your calendars now. This is a Grand Gala event, and I welcome all of our knights to attend.
Thank you, Brother Knights for all you do!

Worthy Brothers,
On behalf of the officers of the Knights of Columbus Monroe Council #1266, I would like to express my sincere and eternal gratitude to all those who served in the US armed forces. This is a great country we live in, the greatest ever, and we Americans have you to thank for the honor and pleasure of being citizens of the USA. We know it was your dedication and sacrifice to the service of our country that has given us the freedom we enjoy today.
May God Bless each and every one of you and thank you from the bottom of our hearts! God Bless America!

Worthy Brothers,
The next General Business meeting for Council #1266 will be Wednesday, November 13, 2024. There will be a rosary said at 6:30 pm followed by the meeting at 7 pm. Attached are the minutes of the October 9, 2024 meeting - please review these minutes prior to the meeting. All knights are invited and welcome to attend.
The Clean Comedy Night with Andy Beningo is coming up a week from this Saturday - November 16. If you haven't purchased your tickets yet, do it now! This will be a very fun night with a lot of friends and a lot of laughs. This is also a great way to support our council as proceeds will go toward upgrades of the hall.
The annual Coats for Kids event will be on November 23rd in hall 2 starting at 9 AM and continuing until Noon. This year we will be distributing mittens as well as coats. Again, we will be offering wrist bracelets which say "Jesus Loves Me' as a way to not only clothe the children physically, but also to clothe them spiritually. Thanks to the efforts of Robert Martin, Bombas has donated 1000 pairs of socks which will also be distributed on that day. Please consider volunteering your time to help make this event a success.
Brother Knights, we are stronger together. Remember we stand for Charity, Unity and Fraternity. Let's work together on these projects for the good of our community and for our children. We do this in the name of our Lord and Savior - Jesus Christ.

Worthy Brothers,
What a great success we had with our fall MI Drive. Over this past weekend we collected over $3000 for support of the St. Mary Catholic Central Andre Bissette Inclusion Program. THANK YOU to all those who endured the inclement weather and stood outside your churches to help make this important semi-annual event so successful. And thank you to all those who donated to this wonderful cause. We cannot do this without each one of you! Great job everyone!!
Don't forget about our upcoming Comedy Night on November 16. This will be a night full of fun and a lot of laughs. Buy your tickets online at kofcmonroe1266.com.

Worthy Brothers,
I am very excited to announce our upcoming event - A Clean Comedy Night with Christian comedian Andy Beningo!
Join us for an evening of laughs to benefit the Monroe Knights of Columbus on Saturday, November 16th! Christian comedian Andy Beningo, who was named "Best Comedian" by both the Detroit Metro Times and Detroit Hour magazine, will be coming to Monroe for a special standup comedy show. Beningo has appeared on CMT's Next Big Comic, Drybar Comedy, and his latest comedy special won "Best in Clean Comedy" at the Eternal Friends Network Christian Comedy Awards. Joining Andy for the show is comedian Mark Bonto - a favorite in comedy clubs and corporate events all over the country.
YOU will NOT want to miss this event. Bring your wife, girlfriend, SO, or bring a friend - but don't miss this opportunity for a great night out, a lot of laughs, and a great way to support our council.

Happy Columbus Day!
Worthy Brothers,
At a time when members of our wonderful country try to demonize Christopher Columbus and dismiss his glorious accomplishments, let us stand tall and be proud of our organization's namesake. The following is a brief excerpt from the Knights of Columbus weekly email report. ...
"Honoring our Namesake and His Legacy:
Knights celebrate Columbus Day, knowing that our namesake gave voice to generations of Catholics, and helped pave a path for our diverse society.
by Corporate Communications Staff 10/7/2020
When founding the Knights of Columbus, Father Michael McGivney picked Christopher Columbus as a namesake for the organization because in a time when anti-Catholic and anti-immigrant feeling ran rampant, the American public embraced this famous explorer.
Father McGivney and his Knights understood that using Columbus as their Order's namesake asserted an important truth: that not only was there a place for Catholics and immigrants within American society, but that such a person had already played a part in creating the young, free world around them."
God Bless you all and have a Happy Columbus Day!
Vivat Jesus!

Worthy Brothers,
This is an urgent request for help with the Shroud of Turin. As of now, we have no one signed up to be at the hall tomorrow, Saturday, from 2 - 4 pm or from 4 - 6 pm. Please let me know if you are able to pick up at least one of these time blocks. We need to have 2 knights here at all times while the exhibit is open and on display.
Thank you for your help!

Worthy Brothers,
As your are aware, the Shroud of Turin exhibit will be on display at our Knights of Columbus hall from August 9th through the 15th. We are very excited about this - this is an incredible thing to see. I encourage all of you to take some time to come visit this exhibit.
We will need some help with this - set-up, daily security watch and take down. Please use this link at Sigupgenius to choose a time and day when you can help. The more help we get, the easier it will be. Even if time slots fill up, it would great if more come to help.

Worthy Brothers,
Thank you to all who helped today moving the St. John Food Closet over to the old St. John School! God Bless you! We got it all done in just a matter 2.5 hours. WOW! As our PGK used to say - "Many hands make light work". That being said, we DO NOT need help tomorrow since we got it all done today. Great work guys!
Second, anyone willing to help out on Thursday at Holiday Camp, just let me know and you can meet us there at the camp at 10:30. We will appreciate any help we can get that day. Thank you in advance!
Lastly, PGK Jay Jondro is looking to do a possible article on the Euchre Social. If anyone has any information on the history of when it started or any other interesting facts, please let him or me know - Thanks!

Dear Worthy Knights,
Greetings, my Brothers!
Although you have already received a couple of emails from me, now that it official, allow me to introduce myself. My name is Jeffrey Couturier and I am honored and humbled to be the new Grand Knight of Monroe Council 1266. Thank you for this honor to serve you and the community of Monroe. I am very excited about the opportunities we have before us and I look forward to doing all I can for our parishes, our families our communities, and our Lord. If, at any time, you have questions, concerns, ideas or suggestions, please feel free to contact me either by phone, text or email.
A few items to bring up already;
- The Goodfellows meeting scheduled for tomorrow has been cancelled. Instead we will be at Merkle Funeral Home North for the visitation of our dearly departed brother Arthur Bomia III. All are encouraged to attend.
- Unfortunately, the lawn mower at the K of C hall has been stolen and we do not have one to take care of our grass. If anyone has a mower to donate, new or used - please contact me or Steve Richardville. We really need to have it replaced as soon as possible.
- This September 28th, a 4th degree exemplification ceremony will be coming to our own home K of C hall. I am very excited about this being at our hall! What a great opportunity for our council to shine! If anyone is interested in becoming a 4th degree Knight - a Knight of Patriotism - please let me know and we will make it happen.
Once again, I am very excited about the future of our council. I'm looking forward to working with all of you in the year to come!
Vivat Jesus,
Jeffrey Couturier
