Well, our Comedy Night with Andy Beningo this past Friday was once again a success! All who attended had a great time and enjoyed a wonderful show. A big thank you to all came out to the show and to those who helped make this event a success!
The lounge staff would like to invite all of you to enjoy a delicious lunch in the lounge today, October 8, from 11:30 am till 1 pm. This week lunch includes a ham, cheese and grilled pineapple sandwich with Teriyaki sauce. Come one - come all!
The next lounge luncheon will be on Thursday, October 15th serving smashburgers.
Sorry for the confusion but due to a scheduling conflict, we have decided to make some changes on the dates of the Tootsie Roll Drive. St. Michael Parish will still be having the Knights passing out Tootsie Rolls before and after masses this coming weekend - October 10 & 11. However, for St. Anne, St. Charles, St. John & St. Mary parishes we have pushed the drive back to the weekend of October 17 - 18, 2026. Funds raised from this fall drive will be to financially support the SMCC "St Andre Bessette Inclusion Program". These funds will be used to cover tuition costs which will allow children of Monroe with disabilities to receive a Catholic education.
When you see your fellow Knights from Council #1266 outside your parish, please be generous in support of this program.

The upcoming fall MI / Tootsie Roll Drive was originally planned for the weekend of October 10 -11, 2026. However, due to a scheduling conflict in which another organization will be soliciting before and after masses at the Monroe parishes, we have decided to move the Tootsie Roll Drive back to the weekend of October 17 - 18, 2026. Funds raised from the fall drive will be to financially support the SMCC "St Andre Bessette Inclusion Program". These funds will be used to cover tuition costs which will allow mentally impaired children of Monroe to receive a Catholic education.

Once again, the Comedy Night event is this Friday. There is still time to purchase your tickets. Set up for the event will be Friday, October 2nd starting at 10:00 AM. Volunteers are needed to set up - if you are available, please come and help us prepare for this. More hands make light work! Thank you in advance for all who are able to help.

Our big Comedy Night is this Friday, October 2nd. The event includes dinner with Chicken Marsala, an open bar and a great Stand-up comedy act with 2 comedians featuring Andy Beningo. This is an opportunity to join your brother Knights and their families for a fun evening and help support our council. Any funds raised from this event will go toward much needed improvements to our hall so please come be a part of this great event. Corporate Communion at St. Michael

Worthy Brothers,
There will be a Corporate Communion this Sunday at St. Michael Church at 10:00 AM mass. All Color Corp members are invited to take part but this is not just for the Color Corp. All Knights and their families are invited to meet in the back of church before mass and partake in the opening procession. Pews will be reserved for you in the front of church. This is a really important mass in honor of the St. Michael festival weekend, and the Knights need to make a good showing. We would like to see as many Brother Knights be a part of this as possible so please plan to attend.
"A Corporate Communion Mass is a special Mass for the Knights of Columbus Council members to gather together as one with their families and share the Eucharist together in both fraternity and unity."

This Tuesday, September 15th, the Men's Prayer Breakfast will be hosting its annual "Holy Smokes" steak roast. All men are invited even if you've never (yet) come to the prayer breakfast before. Come and meet with friends for a delicious steak, a good cigar (optional) and great conversation. Event starts at 6:30 PM at the Monroe K of C hall patio. Price is $40. This Thursday, September 17th, the K of C lounge will be hosting a delicious lunch from 11:30 am until 1:00 pm. This week the lounge will be serving Italian Lasagna with salad, bread and dessert. Price is only $9

Worthy Brothers,
Today, Labor Day, is the unofficial end of summer. Football season is here, kids are back in school, and the weather soon will be getting cooler. The first Labor Day celebration was on September 5, 1882 - coincidentally, the same year Fr. Michael McGivney formed his new men's group which he called the Knights of Columbus. Labor Day was made a national holiday by President Grover Cleveland in 1894 and has been on the first Monday of September ever since.
I would like to wish everyone an enjoyable and safe holiday today! Be sure to give praise to God for the opportunities in this great country to work, earn a living, and to provide for our families.
A note on this Wednesday's General Business meeting - there will NOT be an exemplification so the rosary will start at 6:30 pm and the meeting will start at 7 pm.

It is with great sadness that I report the deaths of 2 of our brother Knights.
Robert Gerhardt, Past Grand Knight of Council #1266 and member of the Color Corp for Assembly #488, left this world to be with our Lord on August 17, 2026, at the age of 76. Visitation will be at St. John the Baptist Church on Wednesday, September 2 starting at 9:30 AM followed by mass at 10:30 AM. Assembly #488 Color Corp will be present for the funeral in his honor.
James Wiseman, Sr, member of Council #1266 and Assembly #488 Color Corp also went to be with our Lord on August 23, 2026, at the age of 84. Visitation will be at Bacarella Funeral Home on Wednesday, September 2 from noon until 3:30 PM. The Knights of Columbus will recite a litany / rosary at 1:30 followed by the Assembly Chalice presentation. Assembly #488 Color Corp will be present in his honor. Deacon Mike Stewart will then lead a memorial service at 3:30 PM.
